Villa Grande Hotel

  Purpose: To establish an example that free enterprise (business) can be used to establish and sustain evangelical efforts on the mission field.

The Villa Grande is an operating hotel, restaurant, and convention center in Chichicastenango, which is one of the primary tourist attractions in Guatemala . By catering to European and Japanese tourists, the Villa Grande is profitable and is able to pay the annual mortgage payments for the purchase of the entire Case del Rey (House of The King) complex.

In addition, the guest rooms, restaurant, and conference center rooms are being used extensively during the periods of lower occupancy to facilitate the operation of the vocational school and the entire mission center. Once the mortgage is satisfied, all of the Villa Grande profits will be used to support the mission operations of Global Development Services.

The Villa Grande also compliments the CTECA vocational training program by providing practical training in all vocations associated with hotel operations, including receptionists, waiters, chefs, maintenance, and grounds keeping.
