"Mayan Cultural Tours "

Purpose: Develop tourism around the Mayan culture and center the activity in Chichicastenango.

Tourism provides one of the most readily available means for Central American countries to generate income. Guatemala is in a unique position of being the center of the Mayan culture, both past and present. At the same time there exists a growing interest among North Americans in cultural tourism.

Tourism provides opportunity for many well-paying jobs for bi-lingual tour guides and drivers. Vida Quiche Tours has been created to specifically develop Mayan cultural tours and add professionalism to tourism in Chichi. This low overhead, profitable business located at the Villa Grande nicely compliments both the hotel business and the vocational training needs of the Guatemalan students.

The long term goal is to establish Chichicastenango as the capital of Mayan tourism and studies.

"Purpose Travel" has been established in Willmar , Minnesota , to develop and promote tour packages in the North American market and at the same time provide a truly unique educational element for our short term mission teams.
