Instituto Evangelico America Latina (IEAL)Purpose: To educate the youth of Guatemala with a Christian emphasis as the basis of learning. Quality education with an evangelistic emphasis is taught as a foundation, and our teachers do all they can to clearly present the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Chimaltenango: The IEAL school in Chimaltenango, about 33 miles west of Guatemala City, ministers to and teaches 710 children. This area is heavily populated with Mayan-Cakchiquel peoples who generally follow the religion of their ancestors. Guatemala City: God has blessed the IEAL school in Guatemala City with 1,526 children enrolled in our K-12 school. They receive a broad education to build the total person, body, soul, and spirit. Extension Schools: These IEAL schools have 2,298 students, mainly adults who are not able to attend school or did not learn to read or write as children. Some of these students are as young as 14-17 years of age. Palencia: This IEAL school is located 11 miles northeast of Guatemala City, and 248 children receive their education at this school. University: University classes are taught in Guatemala City in alliance with the Panamerican University of Guatemala. Some of the teachers are graduates of IEAL and fully accredited. Health Programs: Education and health care are the two great needs in Guatemala. Our health care program serves our students and many villagers in three areas where we have set up health clinics. Hundreds of children, youth, and adults are cared for each year. Evangelism: More that 2000 attendees of IEAL institutions have made a commitment to Christ in the past year. |
