Health CarePurpose: Use medical and health ministries as a tool for introducing the Gospel message to those who do not know the saving grace of Christ. Modern health care is so sparsely available throughout the rural areas of Guatemala that most of the 8-9 million people afflicted must resort to the medical techniques handed down over centuries. Medical, dental, and eye care provided in Christian love readily opens the door to sharing with these Guatemalans of Mayan decent, many of whom have never heard the Gospel message. Support Medical Clinics: Permanent, affordable medical facilities are sparsely located, leaving literally hundreds of thousands without any medical care Provide construction support Provide equipment support Provide channels for affordable prescription drugs Initiate and support medical teams Provide health care training Support Dental Clinics: Beyond the more populous cites, millions of people live without any type of dental care. Provide facilities and equipment support Initiate and support dental teams Provide dental care training Eye Care: Most of the population outside of the major metropolitan areas have never had their eyes checked. Serve as a "Vision Depot" Initiate and support professional eye care teams Provide training for "Vision Centers" Physical Therapy: The practice of physical therapy is nearly non existent throughout the entire country. Initiate and support physical therapy teams Provide training for "Physical Therapy Centers" Provide equipment support Mobile Clinics: Most of the 700,000 residents of the Department of Quiche do not live within a convenient distance from any sort of medical services. Provide basic medical, dental, and eye care to remote areas Provide basic laboratory analysis Provide basic and consistent hygienic and health training
