Eye Care

In partnership with InFOCUS

As many as 900 million children and adults in the world today are visually impaired due to refractive errors that could be corrected by prescription eye glasses. The World Health Organization estimates that 75% of the world's blindness could be prevented or treated. Toward that goal, InFOCUS helps large, medically isolated populations acquire basic vision services and the capacity to link patients to professional care.

Casa del Rey is a Vision Depot Providing:

1. Training

2. Eye care specialist

3. Support of Village Vision Stations through churches

4. Expertise to make Vision Stations self-supporting

5. Readily available inventories of affordable eyeglasses

6. Mobile clinics utilizing the FOCOMETER

The FOCOMETER: How does it work?

The patient looks through the FOCOMETER and adjusts the focus until the designated target is clear. The spectacle prescription can then be read directly on a linear diopter scale on the side of the instrument.
