Children's Ministries

Purpose : To rescue neglected, exploited, abandoned, and orphaned children, providing quality shelter, food, clothing, health care, and education in a loving Christian environment.

  It has been estimated that there are approximately 225 children's homes/orphanages in Guatemala providing a home for roughly 20,000 children. Our experience at Agua Viva would lead us to believe that these numbers could easily double if the support and facilities were available. Our association with feeding programs indicates there are large numbers of malnourished children, perhaps as many as 40-50% in some destitute areas. This huge reservoir of need provides a tremendous opportunity to rescue and raise up children in the Christian faith.

Global Development Services strives to achieve a high level of development in the children God selectively places in our care for the purpose of developing strong Christian leaders for the future of Guatemala.

To that end, GDS serves along side Christian Children's Homes to assist with:

•  Promotional development and administrative support;

•  Construction support;

•  Medical and dental care;

•  The enhancement of quality education, and;

•  Providing transition and vocational training for older children from the children homes.
